My Name is Taffesse Yirga.
I have served in judicial capacity including as judge of Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia for 14 years (1997-2010). Prior to my appointment as a judge, l have also served as a prosecutor for 5 years.
While l was working in judicial capacity, both at Federal High and Supreme Courts, l got the opportunity to have extensive practical experience in different areas of laws.
Besides being a judge, l thought different law courses in the St. Mary’s University and in the Addis Ababa University on part-time basis for 10 years. With regard to my academic background, l have two LLM degrees one in general law from Rostov State University and the other in Human Rights law from the University of London.
Participated on different legal trainings both at home and abroad most importantly, on international business oriented training in Dallas Texas (USA). Currently, l am private practising lawyer in Addis Ababa, providing legal consultancy and court litigation service on a wide range of legal issues notably, on company law, Tax law, mining law, investment law, labor law, contract law, penal law and so forth both to local and foreign companies and for private individuals.
l am one of the most senior lawyers in the country and I believe that, am equipped with the required highest standards of efficiency with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
